A training programme on Doosan Marine Engines organized by VAM & Company in association with Maldives Polytechnic and Doosan Infracore of South Korea was held at Maldives Polytechnic from 31 August – 1 September 2015. The programme was inaugurated by the Minister of Education of Maldives Dr.Aishath Shiham.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony the Managing Director of VAM & Company Mr.Ahmed Zubair Adam noted that training programmes such as these are very important in developing a skilled workforce. He thanked Doosan Infracore of South Korea for the support and co-operation extended in organizing this training programme.

The Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Education Ms. Aishath Shifa also spoke at the ceremony and highlighted that this training programme would be very beneficial for the students and the lecturers of the Maldives Polytechnic. She also noted that this initiative by VAM & Company and Doosan Infracore is a very positive step forward.

Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Jaesoon Kim, the Incharge of Marine Generator and Engine Services at Doosan Infracore thanked VAM & Company for organizing this training programme with Doosan Infracore. He noted that it is very important for such training programmes to be conducted constantly.

The Chief Guest of the Ceremony, the Minister of Education Dr.Aishath Shiham noted that training programmes such as these are very important in producing a skilled workforce for the industries and underlined that this would lead to the provision of employment opportunities. She also highlighted that providing opportunities to the youth is a major priority of the Government.

The training programme was conducted by Mr. Jaesoon Kim, the Incharge of Marine Generator and Engine Services at Doosan Infracore. Students and Lecturers of Maldives Polytechnic, Engineers and Technicians of VAM & Company and Freelance Engineers participated in the training programme.
